Hama governorate opened three service projects in Al-Arbaeen village in the northern countryside of the governorate, as part of the "Fidaa Li Hama" campaign, aimed at improving services for residents returning to their areas.
The three projects comprise:
Hassan Al-Hassan, member of the executive office for education, endowments and communications, told SANA that several projects were launched in the village to support a dignified and safe return of residents from camps in the north. He added that further projects under the campaign would be announced soon, aimed at improving infrastructure and providing new services to citizens.
Ali Al-Khalaf, public relations official in the Mhardeh area, said the village's infrastructure suffered extensive damage, which called for vital projects to facilitate the return of displaced residents.
Muath Rayhan, director of endowments in Hama, stated that about 103 mosques have been restored and rehabilitated in the governorate, out of 158 that were partially or fully damaged.
Abdul Karim Al-Abdullah, a resident of the village, said the projects would help encourage many families living in camps to return, particularly with water available and a school in place ahead of the next academic year. He noted the importance of cooperation between the local community, government bodies and international organisations in delivering future service projects.
Hama governorate launched the campaign last November. It has collected donations estimated at about 210 million US dollars, with the aim of supporting the rebuilding of affected areas in the governorate, upgrading its infrastructure and facilitating the return of displaced people.
