The Founder

Architect M.Sc. Maher Daboul
Maher is a Syrian architect based in Germany.
He holds a Master’s degree in Rebuilding in Syria from Leibniz University, Hannover - Germany. In addition to his architectural background, Maher is actively engaged in technology and community-driven initiatives. He currently dedicates most of his time to developing impactful projects that connect professionals, communities, and opportunities across sectors.
He is also the founder of Rehla Network (www.rehla-net.com) — a platform dedicated to the construction and built environment fields, with a particular focus on the Arab world.
The network serves thousands of Arab professionals and students by providing access to knowledge, tools, and connections.
The idea for Rebuilding Syria was born during his master’s thesis research, in which he analyzed numerous global post-conflict rebuilding experiences. He found that many failures stemmed not from lack of resources, but from poor coordination among key stakeholders, limited local community involvement, and weak integration between actors. These findings led him to establish Rebuilding Syria as a central digital platform — one designed to serve as the main hub for Syria’s rebuilding process by fostering collaboration, inclusion, and transparency among all involved parties.
