
The U.S. State Department has removed Syria from the list of state sponsors of terrorism, according to a statement issued on Monday by the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control.The statement noted that the move comes "in line with President Trump's pledge to ease sanctions imposed on Syria," and that, as a result, Syria is no longer subject to the prohibitions associated with the terrorism-related sanctions list.
