Syria's Ministry of Public Works and Housing and the Ministry of Tourism signed a framework agreement on Monday, October 5, with the UAE's Eagle Hills company to develop and build new urban and tourism developments in the country. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of President Ahmad al-Sharaa during the Investing in Syria and Launched Projects event held at the People's Palace in Damascus.
The framework agreement covers two main projects, the Damascus Hills real estate project and the Latakia tourism project, as part of plans to develop new urban and tourism ventures in Syria.
Minister of Public Works and Housing Mustafa Abdul Razzaq said the signing marks an important milestone in Syria's rebuilding path, stating that it goes beyond signing an agreement and launching two projects, representing a genuine shift from the stage of vision and planning to the stage of partnership and implementation.
He added that the outcome was the product of sustained institutional work involving government bodies, national infrastructure entities and multiple investment institutions, noting that the agreement balances development needs, protection of public interest, and attracting capital and expertise.
The agreement signing comes as part of efforts to strengthen investment cooperation between Syria and the UAE in the real estate and tourism development sectors.
