
The Syrian government has unveiled five major strategic projects aimed at enhancing regional and international connectivity between the Arabian Gulf region and the Mediterranean Sea through Syrian territory. The most prominent of these projects is the establishment of a high-speed railway line for passengers and goods connecting Saudi Arabia directly to the coastal city of Baniyas. Other projects include developing Syrian ports (Lattakia and Tartous) to increase their capacity, modernizing existing international road networks (M4 and M5), and creating advanced economic free zones and logistics hubs. This step aims to accelerate the reconstruction process in Syria, attract Gulf and foreign investments, and strengthen Syria's position as a vital transportation hub in the region serving global trade
