Loading and unloading operations continue around the clock at the Port of Latakia, as part of ongoing operational activity that includes receiving and handling various types of cargo. This work reflects efforts to ensure smooth operations and maintain the port's readiness to receive vessels and handle goods.

Eight-Month Reception Figures

During the first eight months of 2026, the Port of Latakia received a total of 467 ships, broken down as follows:

• 221 general cargo vessels, carrying a combined weight of approximately 1,752,000 tons.
• 217 container ships, carrying more than 194,000 containers with a combined weight of 1,543,000 tons.

Customs Development Measures

This activity falls under development measures implemented by the General Authority for Land and Sea Ports and Customs, which include simplifying customs procedures, facilitating import and export operations, and boosting transit traffic. The port has also been equipped with modern machinery and equipment that have contributed to raising operational efficiency and increasing its handling capacity.
