Lebanese Syrian Investment Forum Opens in Beirut

The Lebanese Syrian Investment Forum opened in Beirut, bringing together officials and business figures from both countries to explore joint investment opportunities and economic cooperation across several key sectors.

The Syrian delegation included around seven ministers, while more than nine Lebanese ministers took part alongside roughly 200 Lebanese business figures. Officials from investment funds and the Syrian sovereign fund also attended, bringing total business participation to nearly 400 individuals from both countries.

Forum sessions covered investment and economic cooperation opportunities in several areas, notably:

• Rebuilding of facilities and infrastructure
• Energy sector
• Transport and ports
• Regional markets

Shared Economic Files

Discussions also addressed a number of shared economic files between the two countries, including customs fees and tariffs, rules of origin, cross-border transport, water issues, and the file of Syrian labor in Lebanon.

The forum offers a direct communication platform between Syrian and Lebanese ministry officials and business figures, opening discussion channels on tariff, transport and border files that directly affect trade and investment flows between the two countries.
