Latakia Port Handles 3.7 Million Tons by September

Latakia port recorded the handling of more than 3.7 million tons of general cargo and containerized goods by the end of September 2025, with vessel reception and cargo handling continuing around the clock.

Vessel Traffic

During this period, the port received 532 vessels, distributed as follows:

  • 250 general cargo vessels
  • 247 container vessels
  • 22 repair vessels
  • 13 passenger vessels

These figures were published by the General Authority for Land and Sea Ports and Customs on Sunday, October 4.

Cargo Volumes

The volume of general cargo handled reached nearly two million tons, while container traffic totaled about 219,000 containers, carrying approximately 1.8 million tons of goods.

Operational Activity

Technical and operational teams continue to carry out loading and unloading work across the port's yards and berths, alongside efforts to enhance readiness and improve service efficiency to support maritime transport and trade exchange.

Upward Trend Since Early 2025

Latakia port has recorded an upward trend in its operational activity since the beginning of the current year, with increasing vessel reception and cargo and container handling, amid ongoing efforts to improve performance and simplify port and customs procedures.
