What was announced

The Homs General Company for Drinking Water and Sanitation, in cooperation with UNICEF, has begun rehabilitating the Al-Nabigha Al-Dhubyani well in the Al-Armen neighborhood of Homs. The well is 120 meters deep and yields up to 50 cubic meters per hour, according to the announcement published by the Ministry of Energy on 21 October 2026.

Scope of the works

  • Rehabilitation of the well's mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Connection of the well to the neighborhood's existing water network once its readiness is improved, to add further quantities of water to the network

Expected benefit

The announcement says the works are meant to raise supply stability for about 30,000 residents, particularly at times of peak demand, within a plan to strengthen water sources in Homs. It does not state the project cost, the contractor, the funding share or a completion date.
