Reopening of the bakery

The Syrian Bakeries Establishment, in cooperation with the World Food Programme (WFP), has opened Hama's Second Bakery, described as one of the largest bakeries in the city. Officials from the Ministry of Economy and Industry and the Hama Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection attended the opening.

Scope of the works

  • Installation of modern production lines.
  • Comprehensive restoration of the bakery building, including construction and rehabilitation works.

The Hama Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection announced the project on Friday, 14 August 2026. The announcement states that the works aim to raise production capacity, improve bread quality and make supply more stable. It does not give capacity figures, a project cost or a contractor.

Related project

On Sunday, 2 August, the Ministry of Economy and Industry and WFP returned the automated Al-Marja bakery in Aleppo to service, serving the Al-Salihin neighbourhood.
