World Bank Grant Approval

The World Bank's Board of Executive Directors approved a $20 million grant from the International Development Association (IDA) for Syria. The "Enhancing Public Financial Management Capacity Project in Syria" aims to improve the efficiency, transparency, and accountability of public funds usage, and includes establishing an integrated financial management information system.

This grant, noted by Syrian Minister of Finance Yaser Barnia, comes as a strategic response to support economic recovery efforts and build the trust of citizens and the international community to meet the country's massive reconstruction needs.
