
Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Marwan al-Halabi announced the launch of the Tartus University Hospital project during an official field visit to Tartus Governorate. The Ministry stated in an official communiqué that the facility will function as an advanced scientific and service center, delivering specialized healthcare services while supporting scientific research and medical training.
The Minister emphasized that the project will contribute to improving the quality of healthcare in Tartus Governorate and strengthening the integration between its medical and academic dimensions. He noted that the launch reflects the Ministry's broader commitment to developing the health sector and raising the standard of medical, educational, and research services across Syrian governorates.
During the same visit, al-Halabi inspected the site of the new University of Tartus, affirming that the project aims to establish a modern academic institution capable of keeping pace with scientific advancement and meeting the educational needs of the governorate's population.
The Minister confirmed that the Ministry is working to support Tartus Governorate and open a new phase of development projects, with the advancement of the university sector ranking among its foremost priorities. He added that the Ministry is studying the establishment of new faculties suited to the governorate's needs, with the aim of broadening educational options and expanding opportunities for students.
