The General Establishment for Drinking Water in Hama Governorate, in coordination with the Ghab District Administration and with the support of Islamic Relief, has launched the rehabilitation of Qulaydin Station in the northwestern countryside of the province. The project aims to improve drinking water services and reinforce their long-term sustainability for tens of thousands of residents returning to the region.
The scope of works includes the rehabilitation of the station building and its surrounding perimeter wall, and the construction of a guard room.
It also covers the restoration of a 500-cubic-metre ground reservoir and the installation of technical equipment for the station's operation.
The project includes a solar energy system comprising 255 photovoltaic panels. This installation provides a power source that reduces dependence on conventional fuel, lowers operational costs, and supports continuous water pumping.
Upon completion, the project is expected to improve drinking water supply to more than 10 villages and residential communities in the Ghab Plain, benefiting approximately 30,000 people.
The works target residents who have returned to their communities following years of displacement.
