The Model Industrial City project in the eastern Aleppo countryside aims to centralize and develop the furniture industry within an integrated complex. The project responds to the need to organize artisanal crafts into a regulated industry that uses modern technology, with the stated aim of restoring Aleppo's position as an industrial centre in Syria.
The project spans a large area equipped with infrastructure that includes industrial power grids and heavy-load transport roads. The city contains hundreds of plots dedicated to workshops and factories, alongside specialized timber drying centres and raw material warehouses, intended to reduce production costs and improve final product quality for export markets.
The plan includes a Vocational Training Center focused on developing youth skills in modern design and automated carpentry.
The city also provides administrative zones, banks, and commercial showrooms where manufacturers can present products directly to exporters, forming an economic cycle from raw timber to export-ready furniture.
According to the project description, the city is intended to provide thousands of jobs for artisans and technicians in the eastern Aleppo countryside, and to support "Aleppo Furniture" as a brand in international markets.
