The Syrian Petroleum Company (SPC) has announced the arrival of several gas shipments at the Baniyas oil terminal in Tartus governorate, with a combined volume exceeding 20,000 metric tonnes. The deliveries form part of a continuous supply programme aimed at reinforcing operational stability and securing uninterrupted energy flows to the domestic market.
According to an official statement published by the company on its Facebook page, marine terminal teams commenced mooring and offloading operations immediately upon completion of the required technical procedures, ensuring the safe and efficient transfer of cargo to the Baniyas gas division storage tanks.
The breakdown of incoming shipments is as follows:
The SPC confirmed its commitment to maintaining a steady flow of supplies, though it did not disclose the origin of the incoming shipments. These deliveries come amid broader efforts to consolidate national energy security, particularly as Syria's energy sector continues its recovery following years of conflict and sanctions.
Earlier in March, the Ministry of Energy denied reports of any shortage in petroleum derivatives, including petrol, diesel, and domestic gas, affirming that refineries were operating normally, crude oil import contracts were active through approved channels, and operational stockpiles remained within safe limits. The ministry urged citizens to rely on official sources and disregard circulating rumours.
The SPC was established under Presidential Decree No. 189 of 2025, issued by President Ahmad al-Sharaa, consolidating Syria's public oil and refining institutions into a single holding company to serve as the central authority for the country's energy sector.
