Aleppo Cuts Engineering Design Fees 50% for Rebuilding

Aleppo Governor Engineer Azzam al-Gharib met with a delegation from the Syrian Engineers Syndicate, led by Engineer Malek Haj Ali, at the governorate building to discuss organizing engineering work and simplifying procedures, ahead of signing a memorandum of understanding between the governorate and the syndicate to support the city's rebuilding phase and strengthen the quality and safety of construction works.

Streamlining Procedures for Engineers and Companies

The meeting addressed developing administrative procedures to facilitate the work of engineers and investment companies, and to accelerate the completion of transactions related to engineering and construction projects in the province.

Reduced Fees for Investment Projects

The two sides agreed to cut design plan fees by 50 percent for investment and strategic projects, as well as rebuilding projects, aiming to encourage investment in the construction sector.

Waiver for Destroyed Homes

The parties also approved zero-value syndicate design fees for citizens' destroyed homes, in support of rebuilding efforts for damaged residences.

Joint Oversight Committee

The meeting discussed forming a joint central oversight committee to follow up on engineering and construction works, alongside the "Jusur al-Omran" project and its governing decree, with an agreement to hold a further session to unify procedures across all areas of the province.
