The rehabilitation project of the Main Raqqa Bridge (known as Al-Rashid Bridge) represents a major strategic step to restore the province's vital arteries. The Ministry of Public Works and Housing, through the "Syrian Establishment for Building and Construction", is executing this essential project to connect the two banks of the Euphrates River (Al-Jazeera and Al-Shamiya), reviving normal life and facilitating transport and trade severely disrupted in recent years
The ongoing engineering works involve repairing deep structural damages to the bridge. Recently (in Q1 2026), the casting of damaged pier bases with reinforced concrete was completed, alongside clearing debris from the riverbed. The work follows an intensive schedule, starting with securing pedestrian crossing as a rapid solution, leading up to final reinforcement to ensure the safe passage of vehicles and commercial trucks
This project receives direct field supervision from the leadership of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, as its completion is integral to the urban recovery plan in Raqqa. The return of Al-Rashid Bridge to service will immediately and positively impact the region's economic and agricultural activities, drastically alleviating the daily suffering of residents in commuting and contributing to the province's stability and development
