Palm Village Hotel Reopens in Yaafour, Rif Dimashq After Full Rehabilitation

Official Inauguration with Diplomatic Attendance

Tourism Minister Mazen Al-Salkhani officially inaugurated the Palm Village Hotel, a four-star property in the Yaafour area of Rif Dimashq, on Friday. The ceremony was attended by representatives of several diplomatic missions. The opening forms part of the ministry's broader drive to strengthen the tourism sector's infrastructure and attract private investment.

Facilities and Capacity

The hotel covers a total area of 3,500 square metres and comprises 33 suites distributed across junior, diplomatic, and presidential categories. Its facilities include indoor and outdoor restaurants, meeting halls, a business centre, and a range of sports and service amenities. The property is designed to serve business travellers, families, and guests seeking both short and extended stays, and is expected to generate between 50 and 60 direct employment opportunities.

Smart Hotel Model and Clean Energy

The hotel's investor stated that the property was fully rehabilitated and equipped after ceasing operations in 2011. The facility adopts a Smart Hotel concept, relying on integrated digital systems to manage operations and services. It also draws heavily on alternative energy sources for its electrical needs, supported by advanced energy and water management solutions aimed at improving operational efficiency and service quality.

Strategic Framework for Tourism Investment

The project falls within the Ministry of Tourism's strategy to support sector investment and drive economic development through job creation and the rehabilitation of damaged facilities. The minister noted that the ministry's role is to maintain an enabling environment that encourages investors to develop quality projects aligned with international best practices while preserving Syrian identity.

Part of a Broader Wave of Tourism Reopenings

The inauguration coincides with the reopening of the Ski Land Mall on the Damascus International Airport road on 15 July, an integrated commercial and entertainment complex housing restaurants, retail outlets, and leisure facilities including an ice-skating rink. Together, these openings reflect an accelerating pace of tourism facility restoration across Syria.
