Mosul Second Bridge (Al Hurriya)

Project Overview

The Al Hurriya Bridge, built in 1958, is the second bridge connecting both sides of the Tigris River in Mosul, Iraq. The structure was significantly damaged during the conflict and subsequent liberation operations, and required rehabilitation.

Scope of Services

• Design review of the contract documents
• Review of existing data and the design
• Drainage design and structural design
• Design review report
• Full construction supervision, including the defects notification period

Client

Ministry of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works, Roads and Bridges Directorate, funded by the World Bank.
