63rd Damascus International Fair

The Damascus International Fair returns for its 63rd edition from 26 August to 4 September 2026 on the Damascus Fairgrounds, under the patronage of President Ahmad al-Sharaa and organised by the Ministry of Economy and Industry together with the Damascus International Fair Administration. First held in 1954, it is one of the oldest general trade fairs in the region and Syria's widest commercial window onto regional and international markets.

The Syrian Establishment for International Fairs and Markets, which announced the edition, states that the fairgrounds underwent upgrades to infrastructure, facilities and services ahead of the opening. Announcing the edition, Minister of Economy and Industry Nidal al-Shaar said Syria "is a land of opportunity, and its doors are open to every serious partner".

Why this matters for the rebuilding sector

For contractors, suppliers, developers and investors, the fair is the widest single point of contact with Syrian public bodies and the private sector in one place, and the opening days are structured specifically for that audience.

• Damascus World Economic Forum: launched for the first time alongside this edition, as a platform for dialogue between government, the private sector, investors and international partners.

Scale of the previous edition

Figures published for the 62nd edition, held in 2025, indicate reach rather than a forecast for 2026:

• 2,261,000 visitors.
• 935 billion Syrian pounds in contracts and agreements concluded.

The number of participating countries and companies in the 63rd edition is not specified in the sources available at the time of writing.

Sectors and participation

The fair is a general, multi-sector event. Sectors listed for the 2026 edition include construction and building materials, energy, technology, food and beverage, trade services, agricultural and building machinery, capital goods, textiles and furniture. Germany is taking part with a national pavilion of 13 companies under its Foreign Trade Fair Participation Programme.

The ambassadors of Bahrain, Palestine and South Africa have publicly described the fair as a platform for economic and investment cooperation with Syria, with Palestine confirming participation with agricultural and industrial products.

Stand booking and investor registration are handled directly by the Syrian Establishment for International Fairs and Markets through its official portal. Companies planning to exhibit should note that stand allocation closes ahead of the opening date.
