The head of Syria's General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport, Omar al-Hussary, met with Jordan's Ambassador to Damascus, Sufyan Qudah, to explore avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation in the civil aviation sector. The meeting was held at the authority's headquarters in the Syrian capital.
Discussions focused on a set of agreements expected to be signed in the coming period, with the aim of developing air transport services and improving air connectivity between the two countries in ways that facilitate passenger movement and bilateral trade.
Al-Hussary stated that the next phase would see practical steps to implement these agreements and enhance air traffic between the two nations. He added that the authority is committed to expanding regional cooperation, raising service quality, and improving operational efficiency in line with international standards, stressing that ongoing coordination with Jordan represents a key pillar in developing this vital sector.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Jordanian ambassador presented a commemorative shield to the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority in recognition of its efforts to strengthen technical and professional cooperation in air transport.
The talks form part of a broader drive by Syria's civil aviation authority to revitalize air links with neighboring countries, open new channels of technical cooperation, and restore Syria's role as a meaningful player in regional and international aviation.
