
The heads of the Syrian and Iraqi chambers of commerce federations, Alaa al-Ali and Amer al-Fahdawi, signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen joint trade and investment cooperation between the two countries. The signing took place as part of the 63rd Damascus International Fair.
The memorandum was signed at the pavilion of the Syrian Federation of Chambers of Commerce, in the presence of Iraq's charge d'affaires in Damascus, Jubair Shallal Akkab, alongside representatives from both sides and Syrian and Iraqi economic and trade figures.
The agreement sets out a number of shared goals for the business communities of both countries, including:
The 63rd edition of the Damascus International Fair opened under the slogan (Syria Rises Again) at the Damascus Fairground, and runs until September 4, with participation from around 1,000 entities.
