Civil defence teams operating under the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management in Latakia governorate are pressing ahead with intensive field operations as part of a coordinated debris removal project carried out in partnership with the governorate administration.

The scope of the project has expanded beyond the town of Salma to encompass the villages of Al-Maruniyat, Beit Miro, and Doreen, reflecting a broader push to address war-related destruction across the rural areas of the governorate.

Operations conducted to date have resulted in the removal of more than 24,000 cubic metres of debris, a milestone that underscores the scale and pace of the ongoing effort.

The initiative aims to rehabilitate damaged areas, restore access along primary and secondary roads, and facilitate the safe movement and eventual return of residents to their communities in the Latakia countryside.
