The Syrian Building and Construction Corporation (SEBCO), Tartus branch, has announced a procurement tender for the supply of deformed reinforcement steel bars in multiple diameters. The materials are designated for structural reinforcement works within the Al-Arida border crossing project, located on the Syrian-Lebanese coastal border in Tartus Governorate.
The Al-Arida crossing is one of the principal land border crossings between Syria and Lebanon, linking Tartus Governorate on the Syrian side with the Akkar Governorate in northern Lebanon. The crossing's bridge sustained severe damage from aerial strikes in late 2024, followed by flood damage in early 2026 that further disrupted operations, necessitating comprehensive structural rehabilitation works.
SEBCO is overseeing the rehabilitation under the supervision of the Syrian Company for Engineering Studies. Ongoing works include the drilling and casting of reinforced concrete piles, structural concrete pouring, and full reinforcement of the bridge frame.
The tender calls for the delivery of deformed (ribbed) reinforcement steel bars in various diameters, conforming to the applicable Syrian technical standards for structural steel. Suppliers are expected to meet the project's technical specifications in full.
SEBCO is a government corporation operating under the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, formally established by official decree in October 2025. It is responsible for implementing infrastructure and housing projects across Syrian governorates, with the Tartus branch directly overseeing the Al-Arida bridge rehabilitation.
The tender was published on 30 July 2026. The deadline for submission of offers is 9 August 2026. Interested suppliers should consult the Sytenders platform for full tender documentation and submission requirements.
How to Apply
Interested suppliers are required to review the full tender documentation on the Sytenders platform and submit their offers to the SEBCO Tartus branch no later than 9 August 2026.
