About the Project
A structural strengthening project for the Umayyad Bridge and Tunnel in Damascus, carried out by the Directorate of Technical Studies of Damascus Governorate together with staff from the governorate's directorates.
Scope of Works
- Structural works to strengthen the Umayyad Tunnel as part of the Umayyad Bridge and Tunnel project.
- More than 150 cubic metres of reinforced concrete have been used in the works.

Current Stage
On 1 October 2026, Damascus Governorate announced that strengthening works on site had resumed, and published a video showing the stages of work.
