About the project
An integrated project to upgrade the infrastructure and operational readiness of the Al-Salama border crossing with Türkiye in Aleppo Governorate. It is carried out by the General Authority for Borders and Customs in coordination with the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, as part of the Authority's plan to rehabilitate and develop border crossings.
Scope of works
- Construction of the required structural and service infrastructure.
- Development of facilities, yards, internal roads and administrative buildings.
- Reorganisation of traffic lanes inside the crossing to streamline operations and procedures.
Objectives
To increase the crossing's capacity, improve services for travellers and freight, and speed up transactions and logistics services in support of trade and transit.
Current stage
Works began on 27 July 2026 and were still under way in October 2026.
