The project to transform the Mezzah Military Airport in Damascus into a dedicated civilian airport is an initiative announced by the General Civil Aviation Authority in Syria. Strategic Location and Significance

Mezzah Airport occupies a highly strategic position in western Damascus, situated close to the main highway and modern development zones (such as Marota City and the Mezzah district). This ideal location enables rapid transit for investors and diplomatic delegations, bypassing the roughly 25-kilometer drive to Damascus International Airport to the southeast.
