About the project
A project to build new grain silos at three sites in Idlib governorate: Saraqib, Tal al-Toqan and Khan Shaykhun. Cleaning and site preparation works are under way, with silo installation due to begin within days, to strengthen grain storage capacity and support the agricultural sector and food security in the governorate.
Sites and capacities
- Saraqib: 12 cells, each with a capacity of 1,000 tonnes.
- Tal al-Toqan: 12 cells, each with a capacity of 1,200 tonnes.
- Khan Shaykhun: 16 cells, each with a capacity of 640 tonnes.
- Combined storage capacity of the three sites: about 36,640 tonnes.
Stakeholders
Site preparation is supervised by the Idlib Grain Branch.
Current stage
Cleaning and preparation of the sites is under way ahead of the start of silo installation.
