A project to establish an integrated industrial, commercial and logistics free zone with a dry port in Hama Governorate, under study by the General Authority for Ports and Customs together with Hama Governorate, to develop the investment environment and facilitate exports.
The proposed site lies west of Kafr Buhum, about 18 km from the city of Hama. On 12 July 2026 a delegation from the General Authority for Ports and Customs toured the proposed site, reviewed the allocated land and discussed the technical and logistical aspects and implementation mechanisms, allowing for future expansion.
On 1 October 2026 Hama Chamber of Industry invited industrialists and investors to complete an online survey identifying the space and activities they expect to need in the project. The survey creates no obligations for any party; its purpose is to analyse the actual needs of industrialists.
The project is at the study and needs-assessment stage, ahead of its approval.
