Al-Kasra Drinking Water Stations Rehabilitation

A project to rehabilitate the raw and treated water stations in the Al-Kasra sub-district of rural Deir ez-Zor, carried out by the General Company for Drinking Water and Sanitation in Deir ez-Zor with ACTED under a service infrastructure support programme, to raise drinking water output and improve supply reliability.

Treated Water Pumping Station

• A new ground-level tank with a capacity of 420 m³.
• Replacement of the pumping set and installation of a chlorination and disinfection system.
• Replacement of filter elements and filter sand.
• Rehabilitation of the elevated tank and its connection to the network, plus equipped staff rooms.

Raw Water Lifting Station

• Replacement of the pumping set, with capacity raised to 150 horsepower.
• Flow rate increased to 200 m³/h.
• Replacement of the suction screens.

Parties and Stage

In May 2026 ACTED issued a call for tender for the works in three lots: rehabilitation of the Kasra raw and treatment stations, construction of a ground tank at the treatment station, and rehabilitation of its water quality system. On 19 September 2026 the Ministry of Energy announced that crews of the General Company for Drinking Water and Sanitation in Deir ez-Zor had started the works.
