The General Housing Establishment — Southern Region Branch is offering an opportunity to complete the South Al-Atem youth housing project in Quneitra Governorate, west of the Salam road linking Damascus and Quneitra and some 4 to 5 kilometres from it. The scheme covers 8.4 hectares with a total floor area of 68,930 m² and comprises 768 housing units across 24 tower buildings, each with a ground floor plus seven repeated storeys and four apartments per floor. Of these, 160 units are currently under construction and 608 remain unbuilt; overall progress stands at about 52%.

What this means for a rebuilding company: this is a completion job, not a greenfield one, and that kind of work opens with a structural assessment of what is already standing and remedial treatment of elements exposed to the weather. The bulk of the volume sits in the 608 unbuilt units — concrete frames, blockwork, plaster, finishes, doors and windows, plumbing and electrical installations, lifts and façades. Existing roads and sewerage reduce the infrastructure burden, but water and power networks, asphalt and landscaping still need completing. A single building type repeated 24 times makes the project well suited to system formwork and bulk material supply.
