The Central Mall at Marouta City is one of the principal components of the new urban district in Basateen Al-Mezzeh, Damascus. The project was planned as an integrated commercial and services hub serving residents and visitors of the city, and is positioned as a key economic driver within the broader Marouta City master plan, which ranks among the largest modern real-estate development projects in Syria.
In 2018, Damascus Cham Holding signed a contract with Syrian businessman Mazen Al-Tarzi for the development and operation of the Central Mall. The total investment value of the project reached approximately 250 million dollars, while the contract value was stated at approximately 108 billion Syrian pounds according to figures announced at the time of signing.
The agreement was among the first partnership contracts in Marouta City in which the private investor received a 51 percent stake against 49 percent held by the public entity. This structure reflects both the scale of capital required and the central role assigned to the private sector in delivering the project.
The Central Mall sits at the heart of Marouta City, the integrated urban development in Basateen Al-Mezzeh, Damascus. The overarching vision for the district combines residential, commercial, services, and entertainment functions, in line with modern urban development concepts and aimed at strengthening the area's appeal to real-estate and commercial investment.
