A project to rebuild the historic structure to its original form, together with a complementary block designed in keeping with the heritage character of Old Aleppo, and to bring both into tourism use as a five-star heritage hotel with no fewer than 170 beds. The hotel includes four dining outlets with a combined capacity of no more than 800 seats, plus complementary retail, leisure and service facilities.
What this means for a rebuilding company: this is heritage restoration before it is hotel construction. It opens with structural survey and documentation of the standing fabric, then consolidation and stabilisation of the stone walls and rebuilding in stone using traditional techniques — work that calls for masons, conservators and suppliers of matching stone. The complementary block is a new build held to the heritage character, meaning a modern frame behind stone façades. Then comes full hotel fit-out, commercial kitchens for four dining outlets, HVAC, lifts, and fire detection and suppression designed for heritage buildings, alongside landscaping and external works.
