Mayadin is one of the significant cities in Deir ez-Zor Governorate. It played a central role in the Syrian conflict due to its strategic location on the Euphrates River. Before the war, the city was economically vibrant, with agriculture and trade being its main industries. However, the conflict has severely impacted these sectors, leading to the destruction of large parts of the city.
