Bio
Arbin is a town in Eastern Ghouta east of Damascus that transitioned from agricultural hinterland to a suburban settlement. Before the war it formed part of the economic and social fabric around Damascus; during the conflict it endured heavy fighting, sieges and aerial bombardment. Residential and commercial structures suffered extensive damage and many residents were displaced.
Damages
Today Arbin is in a partial recovery phase: some residents have returned, limited debris clearance and repairs are underway, and basic services are being restored in parts. Significant reconstruction, mine/UXO clearance, and investment are still required. Pace of recovery depends on funding, security, and administrative decisions.
