International Sham University is a non-profit university in Azaz, northern Aleppo Governorate. It was founded by IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation, which funded its establishment and development. Its campus lies within the boundaries of Shamarin village near Azaz. In November 2025, Syria's Higher Education Council approved the university's current Arabic name, «جامعة الشام العالمية الخاصة» (SANA, 4 November 2025).

Campus

  • Established in 2015 on 50,000 m²
  • Expanded in 2022 with an adjacent plot, bringing it to 80,000 m²
  • University housing, where about one third of students lived in 2022–2023

Faculties

IHH lists the following faculties: engineering, administrative and economic sciences, political science, sharia and law, education, health sciences, and arts. All programmes run for four years. The Faculty of Health Sciences teaches through four departments: nursing, physiotherapy, anaesthesia, and emergency care.
