City of Hope is a residential settlement in Tukli village in the Azaz area of northern Aleppo Governorate, built by IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation together with Qatar Charity. It was built on 280 dunams (about 280,000 m²) to house 1,400 families who had been living in Bab al-Salam camp.

Housing

• 9 residential neighbourhoods with 1,400 housing units
• 1,200 houses of 50 m², each with 2 rooms
• 200 houses of 100 m², each with 4 rooms
• Each house has a kitchen, toilet, bathroom and courtyard, and was handed over furnished

Public facilities

• Mosque, 700 m²
• Two-storey primary and middle school for boys, 1,000 m²
• Two-storey primary and middle school for girls, 1,000 m²
• Kindergarten, 400 m²
• Vocational training centre, 1,000 m²
• Multipurpose conference hall, 2,900 m²
• Administrative building, 1,500 m²
• Health centre, 765 m²
• Market with 50 shops
• Police station and social services building
• Sports grounds and 8 children's playgrounds

Infrastructure

• Water and sewage networks, electricity and paved roads
• A water well with a 160 m³ storage tank
• One waste collection truck and 100 waste containers

Timeline

IHH announced the completion of the project on 26 November 2024, and the official opening took place on 29 January 2025.
