Project Overview

The Sports City project is situated in the Hanano residential district of Aleppo, occupying an approximate area of 5 hectares (50,000 m²). The site is bordered by streets on all sides and is embedded within an active urban fabric. The project is conceived as a fully integrated urban sports destination that combines athletic, commercial, and recreational functions within a single coherent development.

Facilities and Components

The complex brings together a diverse range of sports and service facilities, including:

  • A covered main football pitch with spectator stands
  • Multiple multi-purpose smaller pitches
  • A swimming pool with attached changing rooms, showers, and dedicated management facilities
  • Indoor sports halls
  • Retail units serving visitors and the surrounding community
  • Organised car parking areas

Green Core and Landscape

At the heart of the development lies an internal green lung featuring a small lake, pedestrian pathways, and landscaped seating areas. This central open space is designed to connect the various sports and leisure activities, providing residents with a welcoming outdoor environment for rest and recreation within the neighbourhood.

Development Objectives

The project aims to deliver a comprehensive urban amenity for the residents of Hanano and the wider city of Aleppo. Its primary objectives include restoring social and sporting vitality to the district, providing modern sports infrastructure commensurate with the city's scale and population, and creating a vibrant public space that contributes to the rebuilding of community life in Aleppo.
